Ensete Maurelii - Red Abyssinian banana
- Type: Bananas
Huge leaves, flushed with deep burgundy and a red stem make this an outstanding foliage plant for the patio or garden. Whilst not winter hardy, it can be stored easily indoors protected from frost or you can even try growing it on through the winter months under glass. Alternatively, cut the trunk back to soil level and keep outside with roots dry and protected from frost to trigger new and vigorous growth the following year. Can get very large and is very beautiful. Plant in full sun or dappled shade and keep it well watered with regular feeding.
The 20/30cm plugs have just been re-potted to enable further growth. To keep P&P down they will be sent bare-root. This does not adversely affect the plant. Larger plants will be sent in their pots.
